WHY SHOULD I GET A MORTGAGE APPROVAL FIRST?
Getting pre-approved for a mortgage is the best first step. First, this will give you price range of what you can afford. Second, with a mortgage approval, you will be in a better position to negotiate with sellers. This also shows the seller how serious you are about the property, and it will make them more comfortable working with you. When an offer is presented, a pre-approved mortgage letter is essential.
